Equipment & Technology
Technology is a powerful enabler in health care. It improves diagnosis and treatment, strengthens collaboration, attracts and retains top talent, creates efficiencies and speeds up response times. It is also a major, ongoing expenditure that requires help from the community so that we can continue to deliver patient care excellence now and in the future.

Giving 110% will support the purchase of this kind of leading-edge medical equipment. In the hands of our skilled clinicians, these tools will lead to faster, more accurate, and more innovative diagnoses and treatments that improve patient outcomes and decrease wait times throughout the entire hospital.
Cardiac Catheterization Lab - When an ECG shows a code STEMI (ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction) – a severe heart attack requiring angioplasty – patients across our region are rushed to the Mississauga Hospital, bypass Emergency, and go directly to our catheterization lab for life-saving surgery.
Upgrades and equipment are urgently needed for a fourth lab to increase capacity for life-saving STEMI service and to grow electrophysiology, treating high risk, irregular heart beat with ablation and implants. A fourth lab is essential in order for us to continue to provide the leading-edge cardiac care our community deserves – close to home.
A new generation MRI – our community made it possible
Mississauga Hospital, was the first community hospital in Canada to offer Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in 1997. In 2010, it was determined that original machine needed to be replaced, and the community came together to support this essential piece of equipment.
